The Beasley Family Dear Bill & Family, We just wanted to thank you for the use of your home on Cape San Blas, during the week of March 17-24, 2007. We had such a great time, we didn't want to leave. Your home was perfect. It was so clean and beautifully decorated. It was nice to fall asleep listening to the sounds of the ocean! The views were great and it is such a short walk to the beach. The boys were in heaven. They enjoyed searching for the best shells, and of course, Hayden found a crab and a jellyfish. He was impressed by the sharks that a fisherman caught from the beach one morning - although he was a little leery about getting in the ocean after that. We were also able to see dolphin swimming one morning. When we first arrived, it was really cool. It was 38 degrees in the morning and the wind was really blowing. With the cold weather, swimming and the beach were not comfortable, so we got to explore Cape San Blas and the surrounding areas - what a treat! We visited the St. Joseph Peninsula State Park located a short drive down the road. The boys really enjoyed this park. Searching for Hermit Crabs was a favorite! Our second visit there we were visited by an alligator! The beaches at the park are beautiful!!!! We made several visits to this park, since the boys really enjoyed it here. We visited Mexico Beach and ate at Toucan's on the beach. The food and the atmosphere there were both excellent! We also visited St. George's Island and the State Park located there. It also has some beautiful beaches and a very nice State Park. We visited Apalachicola. It is a beautiful town with excellent shopping and dining. We ate at Papa Joe's at the marina, and it was very good. We also took a boat tour of the bay with Wheelhouse Tours and got to see alligators, bald eagles, and osprey. The boy's enjoyed seeing all of the oyster & shrimp boats and fisherman. Of course, we had to visit the Indian Pass Raw Bar, and it was as good as everyone said it was. The boys even had their first taste of fresh Apalachicola oysters - and loved them! We also ate at the Loggerhead Grill and it was very good, as well. The only down side was that due to the cold spell we weren't able to take the boys fishing (nothing was biting), but that just mean we'll have to came back again! I have enclosed some of the photos we took while we were there - feel free to use any and/or all of them.
